18. Custom Clay Luggage and Gift Tags
Add a personalized, high-end touch to your travel gear or holiday gifts with custom-stamped clay tags. These tags are incredibly satisfying to make and can be customized with names, initials, inspirational words, or delicate floral designs. Roll out your clay to a thin, durable slab. Use a rectangular or luggage-tag-shaped cutter to cut out your tags. Don’t forget to punch a generous hole at one end using a metal straw so you can attach a leather strap or ribbon later.
Using a set of miniature alphabet stamps, press your desired words, names, or coordinates into the wet clay. You can also press small dried flowers or lavender sprigs into the clay alongside the letters for a beautiful botanical touch. Once dry, sand the edges until they are perfectly smooth and rounded. To make the lettering highly legible, paint the stamped letters with a fine-tip brush or paint pen in a contrasting color, then seal the entire tag with a durable, water-resistant varnish to protect it during your travels or gifting journeys.
