9. Macramé Feather Wall Sculptures
Bohemian decor relies heavily on tactile, handmade elements that evoke a sense of global craftsmanship. Macramé feather wall sculptures take traditional knotting techniques and simplify them into soft, organic feather shapes that add whimsical motion, textured layering, and gentle movement to blank spaces.
Cut a long central spine of cotton macramé cord, then fold shorter, uniform strips of cord around the central strand using simple lark’s head knots, stacking them tightly from top to bottom. Once the entire length is knotted, use a fine-toothed comb or cat slicker brush to un-twist and comb out the individual threads into a soft, fluffy fringe. Trim the outer edges with sharp fabric scissors into a clean, tapered feather silhouette. Lightly spray the completed feather with fabric stiffener or hairspray to preserve its shape, then suspend multiple feathers of varying sizes from a piece of weathered driftwood for an eye-catching focal display.
