6. Peel-and-Stick Tile Tabletop Refresh

6

Worn-out accent tables, side tables, and coffee tables often end up discarded due to scratched or stained surfaces. Rather than replacing the furniture, revitalizing the tabletop with modern peel-and-stick tiles offers a low-cost, durable design solution that introduces pattern, geometric interest, and easy-to-clean durability.

Sand the tabletop lightly to remove flaking paint or gloss, creating a smooth surface for maximum adhesion. Measure your surface dimensions precisely and pre-cut vinyl peel-and-stick tiles—such as faux marble, Moroccan zellige, or terrazzo designs—to fit the exact layout. Peel back the protective backing and press each tile firmly onto the surface, working from the center outward to prevent trapped air bubbles. Trim excess edges flush with the table rim using a sharp utility knife. Finish the edges with a thin strip of wood trim or metallic edge banding to create a tailor-made piece of furniture.
