Standard builder-grade ceiling light fixtures can feel uninspired and flat. Creating a dynamic, oversized paper lantern chandelier adds dramatic visual volume, soft ambient light diffusion, and cloud-like sculptural elegance over dining tables or seating arrangements without requiring expensive electrical rewiring.
Purchase three to five white accordion paper globe lanterns in varying diameters (such as 12-inch, 16-inch, and 20-inch sizes). Assemble the interior wire frames of each globe to expand them into full spheres. Cluster the lanterns together at alternating heights, threading their top hanging hooks through a central ring or securing them directly to an existing light cord base using clear fishing line or white ribbon. When illuminated by warm LED bulbs inside, the floating cluster casts a soft, inviting glow that transforms the room’s upper spatial volume.
