7. Popsicle Stick Pumpkins
Popsicle sticks are a staple of childhood crafting, and they are perfect for creating sturdy, rustic pumpkin decorations. This project is excellent for developing fine motor skills and spatial awareness as kids align the sticks to form their pumpkin shapes. These durable decorations can be hung on the wall or used as festive coasters for autumn drinks.
Line up about seven to eight craft sticks side-by-side. To hold them together, glue two additional craft sticks diagonally across the back. Flip the wooden canvas over and paint the front a bright, cheerful orange. Once the paint is dry, cut a small stem out of brown construction paper or a green pipe cleaner and glue it to the top. Kids can use a black marker to draw a classic jack-o’-lantern face, or they can use green ribbon to add curly vines to the top of their pumpkin patch creation.
