4. Pinecone Spiders

4

Bring a touch of nature indoors with this rustic and adorable pinecone spider craft. Gathering pinecones from the backyard adds an exciting outdoor treasure hunt element to the project before the crafting even begins. With their natural woody texture, pinecones make the ultimate bumpy bodies for creepy-crawly autumn spiders.

Find some medium to large pinecones and make sure they are clean and dry. Cut brown or black pipe cleaners in half to create the legs. Wrap four pipe cleaners around the center of the pinecone, twisting them once in the middle to secure them, which will give your spider eight bendable legs. Bend the ends of the pipe cleaners downward so the spider can stand on its own. Finish the project by gluing googly eyes to the flat front base of the pinecone. Kids will love posing these little creatures all over the house, from bookshelves to the dining table.
