Creepy Crawly Spider Web Lanterns

5

Turn basic mason jars into flickering lanterns overrun by arachnids. Start by wrapping the exterior of clean glass jars with white yarn, cheesecloth, or spider web webbing, securing the ends with hot glue. Next, take hot glue and create raised, textured spider web patterns directly onto the glass or fabric. Paint over the hot glue lines with black acrylic paint to make the web structure stand out, or leave them semi-translucent for a subtle look.

Attach several small, realistic plastic spiders to the exterior, making it look as though they are crawling out of the web. Place a battery-operated tea light inside each jar. As the candle flickers, the shadows of the spiders and the intricate web patterns will project onto surrounding surfaces, creating a spooky, dynamic lighting effect perfect for pathways, mantels, or windowsills.
