Shredded Zombie Curtains
Dress your windows or doorways in tattered, post-apocalyptic drapery that looks like it survived a zombie horde. Purchase cheap white cheesecloth or beef netting and cut it into long, irregular panels. To make the fabric look aged and dirty, steep it in a bath of strong black tea or diluted black and brown acrylic paint, then let it air dry with natural wrinkles.
Use your hands, scissors, and wire brushes to rip, shred, and pull at the fibers, creating gaping holes, frayed edges, and runs in the fabric. For the final terrifying touch, splatter dark red acrylic paint or fake blood across the shredded panels to mimic handprints and splatters. Hang these over your existing curtains or across doorways to create a derelict, abandoned-house atmosphere.
