Bleeding Pillar Candles

3

Add a touch of gothic elegance to your Halloween tablescape with bleeding pillar candles. This simple yet highly effective DIY requires only a few white pillar candles and one or two vibrant red taper candles. Light the red candle and hold it at an angle over the white pillars, allowing the melted red wax to drip slowly down the sides of the white wax. The contrast between the pristine white base and the rich, crimson drips mimics the look of freshly spilled blood.

For safety and the best visual results, work on a protected surface like parchment paper or an old baking sheet. You can build up layers of red wax to create thick, realistic droplets and runs. Once dry, place these candles on tarnished silver candelabras or rustic wooden blocks. When you light the white candles during your Halloween dinner party, the heat will continue to melt the red wax layers, keeping the “bleeding” effect alive throughout the night.
