17. The Frozen Waterfall Cabin
Build beside a frozen waterfall and the cabin becomes part of the landscape. Blue ice, packed ice, white concrete, and pale blue glass, with the cabin’s warm windows glowing against all that cold.
I keep the cabin itself simple and let the waterfall be the star. A little bridge over the frozen stream, lanterns on posts, and a path that winds behind the falls. It photographs beautifully, especially at dusk when the lantern light hits the ice.
