7. Rusted Metal Bucket with Mixed Gourds & Fairy Lights

Idea & How-to:
Use a small vintage galvanized or rusted metal bucket or pail. Fill it with a mix of mini gourds and pumpkins in complementary colours (cream, orange, green), and weave in a string of warm white fairy lights (battery-operated) for a soft glow. Place the bucket on a small wooden riser or directly on the table.
Why it works vintage: Weathered metal containers feel aged and utilitarian; combining casual metal with natural fall produce creates an organic, grounded centerpiece. The fairy lights add subtle elegance.
DIY tips: Make sure fairy lights are battery operated and the battery pack is hidden. Use a bucket that isn’t too tall so it doesn’t block sight lines.
Color palette: Silver/gray metal, muted gourds, warm white light, rustic brown table surface.
Height: Low-to-medium (~6–9″).
