5. Vintage “Photo Frame” Tray with Leaf Garlands & Candles

6
Idea & How-to:
Repurpose a large vintage photo-frame (without glass) or shallow wooden frame as a decorative tray. Place it flat on the table; within the frame border, lay a garland of dried or faux fall leaves and berries. In the middle, place three small vintage candle holders with ivory votive candles.
Why it works vintage: The concept of reframing items (an old picture frame) as decor is clever and adds character. Leaves and candles bring warmth and movement. Designing within the frame border gives a contained, art-like feel.
DIY tips: Secure the garland so it doesn’t shift when serving. Choose candle heights that don’t obstruct sight-lines.
Color palette: Weathered wood/metal from the frame, amber and rust leaves, ivory candles.
Height: Very low — majority lies flat, candles only ~3–4″ high.
