15. Geometric Wooden Wall Hooks

Functional art for your entryway, these geometric wooden wall hooks keep jackets and bags tidy while doubling as wall sculptures.

  • How to Make It: Cut blocks of scrap hardwood into striking geometric shapes like triangles, hexagons, or diamonds. Drill a slanted hole into the face of each block to accept a sturdy dowel anchor, or recess a keyhole hanger slot into the back face for clean wall mounting. Sand thoroughly and finish with clear wax.
  • Tips: Group three or four different geometric shapes together in an asymmetrical cluster on your wall for maximum visual impact.
  • Variations: Paint the front face of each geometric block in different earthy tones (like terracotta, olive, and cream) while leaving the natural wood sides exposed.
