Spider Infestation Bottles

13

Instill a sense of arachnophobia in your guests with a creepy spider infestation bottle. This project is simple to execute but highly effective at creating a skin-crawling reaction. Start by painting your bottle in a neutral, dusty color like light grey, beige, or off-white. This light background ensures that the dark spiders are highly visible from a distance. You can also apply a crackle medium over the paint to give the bottle an aged, decaying plaster look.

Using a pack of cheap plastic spider rings, cut off the ring bands so the spiders sit completely flat. Using hot glue, adhere the spiders all over the bottle in a realistic climbing pattern. Make it look as though they are pouring out of the mouth of the bottle and spreading down the sides, clustering more densely in some areas and scattering in others. To finish the look, stretch a tiny amount of synthetic spiderweb material over the entire bottle, catching it on the plastic spiders to create a dusty, long-forgotten appearance.
