17. Distressed Mummy-Style Ghosts
For a more rustic, weathered look, try the distressed mummy-style ghost technique. Instead of draping large, solid sheets of cheesecloth, tear the fabric into long, jagged strips of varying widths. Wrap these strips around your foam and wire form, overlapping them unevenly and leaving loose, dangling ends that mimic ancient bandages. You can lightly spray the finished ghost with diluted brown acrylic paint or tea stain to give it an aged, dusty, straight-from-the-crypt appearance that pairs beautifully with primitive or farmhouse decor.
