12. Pastel Ombre Speckled Pumpkins
Break away from traditional autumnal hues and embrace a soft, dreamy pastel palette. These whimsical pumpkins look beautiful in modern, bright spaces and are incredibly fun to make. Paint your pumpkins in soft, chalky shades of mint green, lavender, blush pink, and pale robin’s egg blue. While the base coat is dry, create an ombre effect by lightly sponging a slightly darker shade of the same color around the bottom of the pumpkin, blending it softly as you move upward. Once your base colors are perfect, dip a stiff-bristled brush or an old toothbrush into diluted brown or gold acrylic paint. Pull your thumb back across the bristles to splatter fine, organic speckles across the pumpkins, mimicking the beautiful, natural appearance of wild bird eggs.
