Haunted Tree Face

20

Bring the trees in your yard to life by crafting a custom haunted tree face. This creative DIY project turns the natural bark of your trees into the wrinkled, ancient skin of an active, talking forest spirit. By sculpting facial features out of lightweight, weather-resistant materials, you can easily mount eyes, a nose, and a gaping mouth to any large tree trunk, creating a surprising and delightful detail for passersby to discover.

You can sculpt the face pieces using air-dry outdoor clay, foam, or even bark-textured papier-mache, painting them to match the color and texture of the specific tree you plan to use. Alternatively, you can create a whimsical look using large plastic plates painted like glowing eyes and a mouth cut from black felt. Secure the pieces to the trunk using tree-safe adhesive tape or elastic bands wrapped around the tree. When paired with spotlighting from below, the tree face will cast dramatic shadows, making it look as though the tree itself is watching over your haunted domain.
